Bar 23 was my find of Saturday night. Not too crowded, and a little too loud considering that; but a really good vibe. 70s dancing playing on a screen, whic I could have watched all night! Good tunes playing, friendly staff, decent drinks. Well worth checking out, as it's a slighly older crowd than the normal Dalston scene. One of the best in Dalston, definitely.

Chillout Bar
This is superb place to go, with great DJ's. Music is varied and is not to everyone's taste, however the dance and funky house DJ's are good. Drinks are of a good selection and cocktails are done well here. This is a great chillout place with super chillout music to compliment the decor.

I went in here for an open mic night and was disappointed to find an empty bar with no sign of live music. Had a nice night anyway, though. there's a random collection of art on the walls and nice bar staff. It runs the risk of being overrun by Shoredicks because it's further up the High Street towards Dalston.

Bar 23 in Stoke Newington Road is one of Dalstons most popular venues. They serve a great selection of drinks, ranging from beers to cocktails, and the service is fast and friendly. Music is an important part of the atmosphere, and they have a great line-up of DJs in the evenings.

THE place to hang out on a weekend
Bar 23 is one of the most fun bars in the area. It's really little but never overcrowded, and there's a great mix of eclectic people and a great energy about the place virtually every evening. They have outdoor tables with a smoking area, as well as a nice separate area in the back where you can just sit and relax. A wonderful place to hang out.
