I have been to the dolphin for a game of pool and quiet drink, a late-night dance, a snatch of karaoke, and to watch the football, all on different occasions, or at times all on the same night! It has that versatile feel with no pressure or pretense but a dirty fun bar to hang out in. It doesn't matter if you spill your drink and you wont get frowned on if you grab the microphone - in fact it is all part and parcel. A great place if you are in the right mood and perfect venue to go to after the more sophisticated pubs have called last orders.

The Dolphin needs no introductions! We all know it is the ONLY place to go for late night disco karaoke ( and pool). There are 'retro'bates of all shapes and sizes and lovely management to match. Every now and again they get a bit excited and there is a turkish BBQ that rocks just like The Dolphin which is ultimately a friendly / gay shark!!

I am ashamed to admit that I have lost count of the number of nights I have ended up at this rather questionable establishment! The dolphin has some sort of skanky late night alcohol-fuelled magnetism that keeps on bringing us back - or it might just be the fact that it is the only place open when we fall out of the pub and I rarely venture further than Broadway market. Either way, I always have a good time, enjoy a game of pool, meet alot nice friendly people and as a smoker spend a lot of time in the outdoor seating area which is really comfortable and partly undercover which is a vast improvement to huddling on the pavement outside.
The other reviewers mentioned it being too hip - I don't find it hip at all! It is a mix-match of all kinds of reprobates congregated in the same venue for all kinds of reasons (again the main one being its licensing hours) but there is no pressure to be overly 'scene' like in Shoreditch or Hoxton.
All things considered the Dolphin has provided the backdrop to some of the funniest conclusions to a lot of my evenings. As long as you can provide your own fun, enter with no expectations and have reasonably low standards you are on to a winner, but be warned you will wake up with a hangover!
