The East London Line project, which is now part of London Underground, is expected to open in early April 2010, according to London Reconnections blog.

Dalston to New Cross
From April 4th, four trains per hour will run between the new Dalston Junction station and New Cross, and four going the opposite direction.
From May 23rd, four trains per hour will run from Dalston to New Cross, Crystal Palace (which will take 37 minutes), and West Croydon (which will take 47 minutes).
This means that east and southeastern London will now be connected by rail for the first time.
The Londonist said that the April completion date is "Naturally, all dependent on how the tests go."
They predicted that there is also a chance that the May 23rd date may slip till June to coincide with the re-opening of the northern Overground branch, which closes for three months from Feb 20th.
For anyone that missed the BBC London's driver's eye video of Dalston to New Cross, you can watch it here.
