This week one of Dalston's top pubs launched its new menu in style with an tasting event.

Tasty Times!
Presenting their new Head Chef, Matt Lloyd, The Prince Arthur pub in Forest Road opened its doors to bloggers, regulars and general fans of the establishment. We were invited to taste some highlights of the delicious new menu.
The popular pub was bustling with local residents of all ages, who were all treated to mouthwatering delights such as country pork terrine and hot smoked Scottish salmon to start with.
As the wine flowed, waiters presented tasting dishes with two of the brand new main courses. First I tried Pan fried Icelandic sustainable cod, pearl barley, roast salsify, buttered spinach and creamed parsley (£16 as a main). It was beautifully cooked and tasted so fresh, I must admit I had a few bowls.
Second was new Head Chef Matt's favourite dish to cook; Confit Barbary duck leg, smoked bacon, braised puy lentils, chicory and caramelised apple (£14.50). The dish was gorgeous, and each ingredient perfectly complimented eachother. This seemed to be the dish that everyone couldn't get enough of!
For dessert, there was treacle tart with Jersey double cream. This is something I wouldn't normally go for but the tart was perfect texture and not too sweet so I had to have more!
Also the Valrhona chocolate and hazelnut parfait went down a treat too.
Events coordinator Lauren Windle said of the evening: "It was great to see so many familiar faces at The Prince Arthur. We are really pleased to have such a fantastic group of regulars, so thank you again for coming down and making it such a successful evening. I hope you enjoyed the food and we all look forward to seeing you again very soon!"
All in all, it was a great night and I would definitely go back to eat there. Don't worry fans of the Prince Arthur, as some of the old classics are still on the menu, but Matt Lloyd really has put his stamp on the place as the pub goes from strength to strength.
