New Bar A Bar launches in Stoke Newington

A new bar launched this weekend in Stoke Newington, adding to the growing nightlife in Hackney.

Bar A Bar brings yet another basement to the corner of Beatty Road and Stoke Newington Road.

The club will play host to some of the most exiting and dynamic club nights and artists this year."

The bar has been described by ownsers as "honest, rough and ready" and provides yet another bar to aid the comparison between Dalston and 1970's Brooklyn.

Like many venues in the area, the hertitage of Bar A Bar is a chequered one. Originating as a Turkish den and then Jamaican Blues club, the essence of this venue remains true to late night reveling and echoes edgy NY night life of the 70’s.

The owners, an independent creative group, who have brought the place to life, have over the years helped shape some of the most prolific club nights around but wish to remain anonymous. They are sticking to what they know best, the winning combination of quality music and a diverse crowd.

To mark this takeover, Bar A Bar threw two FREE weekend parties - did anyone attend?
