Dove Freehouse
The Dove pub in Broadway Market announced this week they will be serving a special Mulled Beer - a delicious twist on a classic drink. The beer is made from Kriek cherry beer with lemon, orange, cloves, cinnamon, vanilla and nutmeg. It will be available from Wednesday 3rd December and thereafter every day to the end of December.
The popular gastro pub is also offering a three course Christmas menu for a pre-booking price of £20. This is only available Monday to Thursday. The menu includes a varied choice of delicious food including free range turkey, sea bass, venison hare and pheasant pie, steak or squash tart.
LMNT, Dalston's eccentric dining experience in the Egyptian themed venue on Queensbridge Road, is now offering a Christmas menu. The menu costs £25 for three courses and incudes winter delights such as red wine and venison sausage, wild mushroom risotto or pheasant. An interesting mix! You can see the Christmas menu here.
For something a little different, award winning Thai restaurant Yum Yum are offering a 3 course Thai Christmas menu and a champagne cocktail all for £30. They are open on Christmas, Boxing and New Years Day and are taking bookings for parties of up to 150 so it could be the perfect venue for a work do.
The menus includes a choice of 4 set menus with Thai favourites such as crispy duck, green chicken curry and king prawns.
Of course, as Hackney Hive described this week, Open The Gate the Black Culture Cafe on Kingsland Road are taking bookings for their African Caribbean Christmas dinners.
Although a little out of Dalston, The Hackney Pearl on Prince Edward Road in Hackney Wick is not one to miss. The cosy bar is offering a £25 three course Christmas dinner with some delicious looking delights such as duck liver pate, parsnip, pumpkin and chestnut pie, a game pie or game pie. For group bookings there is an option to share a whole braised shoulder of venison or a slow roast loin of Old Spot pork. They are taking party bookings now, although the pub is closed between 24th December and 9th January.
However you end up celebrating the Christmas season, let us know your hints and tips!
