A consultation event is set to take place tomorrow allowing residents to influence the proposed design for the new Forest Road youth centre in Dalston.

Hackney Council, in partnership with The Learning Trust, has been awarded nearly £5 million to upgrade three existing youth centres and build two completely new youth centres over the next two years. The programme is being funded through the government's myplace programme.

The event is being held at Rhodes Estate Community Hall, Kirkland Walk (off Beechwood Road), E8 3TA 22nd Jan 3.30pm - 7.30pm, and 23rd Jan 10am - 2pm

Hackney Council said the new centres will be:

Safe – a place for all young people to relax and have fun.

Exciting – with a range of activities and support available

Different – the centres will be unlike any youth centre you've seen before.
