According to the Hackney Central Labour Blog Dalston Lane will be fully reopened for the weekend.

Eastbound traffic will begin using it again as from tomorrow (Thursday) & westbound traffic will be able to use Dalston Lane from the weekend. The closure was caused by a sewer collapse and full details are on the website.

Do we trust that this will actually happen?

ok... I can officially say the eastbound lane is now open but the junction is still a joke.

They managed to wipe out all the traffic lights this morning and had two workers doing a great job directing traffic until they disappeared and then there was a small shunt between two cars... there are now some temporary traffic lights... so lets see how long they are there for.

By the way, the original date of completion for all this was MAY 2009...

No, I'll be very surprised it it does. Thames Water and TFL have demonstrated time and time again that (i) they are inept and (ii) they are liars.

I'm still really keen on the Dalston Lane street party, right next to the sewer work.

this whole situation is a fiasco!!! Dalston Lane has been closed off for two weeks and when do they decide to resurface the road? the day before the are going to reopen it.... which seems to make sense if it wasn't for the fact that the whole road is gonna have to be closed off again so that the rest of the road can be resurfaced!!

Last week when I was cycling home I counted 72 buses in one continuous line of traffic that stretched from Crossway down Kingsland HIgh Street then into Richmond Road then into Queensbridge Road and as the queue reached Dalston Junction it then split into Graham Road and Dalston Lane .
