A Dalston businesswoman has narrowly missed out on a prestigious accolade for her up and coming cycle wear company.
Amy Fleuriot, 23, from Dalston, made it to the shortlist of the O2 X Awards 2009 for her women's cycle wear and accessories line, Cyclodelic.
Amy was identified as one of the most inspirational young people in her field, showing business acumen beyond her years and thriving in challenging economic conditions.
Cyclodelic, which has gained recognition for its fun and fashionable approach to women’s sports wear, has grown considerably since its
creation in 2006.
Amy spoke to DalstonPeople yesterday, and said that the win would have meant a much needed financial boost to the company in order to increase production.
She added : "Just being nominated had been a fantastic boost of confidence to everyone involved in the business. I have funded Cyclodelic almost entirely by myself up to this point, making everything in house.
"Since Cyclodelic had its pop up shop in Topshop back in the Summer we have had countless requests for orders and our in house manufacture has now reached capacity."
Simon Devonshire, Head of Small Business Marketing at O2, said: “The level of business talent, innovation and creativity evident in the entries we have received reveals a whole new generation of young entrepreneurs emerging from London.
"It’s fantastic to see and integral to the continued success of the UKs small business community as a whole and we are delighted to be able to recognise the contribution and success of these young business men and women through this new X Award’s category.”

I saw some of these clothes in TopShop, a really good idea as there isn't really anything else like it. Good luck for the future Amy!
