Fill half-term week with family learning events in Dalston

The children are off school and you've got to entertain them for a week - daunting isn't it?

The Family Learning Festival 2012
But the Family Learning Festival, which runs until next weekend is a fantastic opportunity for families to come together and take part in free and fun learning activities in Dalston.
The theme for this year's festival is 'Imagine'.
Activities include family arts/crafts, ICT workshops and jewellery making. You can even start to learn a language with our Spanish taster sessions, get tips about healthy food, a hula hoop workshops or just brush up on your basic maths skills.
The festival programme has been co-ordinated by the Family Learning Team at Hackney Learning Trust, Hackney Children Centres and Hackney Libraries in association with local heritage centres and community organisations.
Festival events going on at Dalston C.L.R. James Library are:
- Family Spanish
Monday 29 October, 10am - 12noon
Come and have fun learning a new language with your family. An informal and friendly introduction to Spanish words and culture.
- Poetry workshop with John Hegley
Wednesday 31 October, 2pm - 3pm
A fun creative writing Halloween themed workshop, with poetry, writing and drawing. Book at the library or call 0208 356 3000. Age 7+
- Baby massage for mums and dads
Saturday 3 November, 10am -11am
Learn the many benefits of baby massage. Book at the library or call 0208 356 3000. Age 0 - 1 year.
