Here at Dalston People we have compiled a list of our favourite pubs in E8. Although the summer drinking evenings are over, it's time to get cosy in some of Hackney's best boozers.

The Dove Freehouse and Kitchen on Broadway Market is in an excellent setting, especially on a Saturday when the market is heaving. Stand outside and smell the wafts of gourmet delights cooking away on the stalls, or get cosy inside in the rustic wooden seats and play one of many boardgames on offer. Food here is great, especially Sunday roasts and make sure you try one of the Belgian beers on offer.

The Prince Arthur on Forest Road is a great Hackney pub tucked away in the residential streets of Dalston. Another perfect pub to get cosy in this winter, with an old fashioned decor and a bar in the centre of the room. They also offer food here including a great Moules Marinier.

The George is very similar to The Prince Arthur and dates back to the 1800's. Despite recent licensing issues, there is always a friendly crowd down at The George and the vibe is very old school. They even sell pickled eggs in the bar.

The Fox on Middleton Road is a great meeting place, and also a great place to head before going south to Shoreditch. You can rent tables here for parties, or there is plenty of room if there is a big group of you. Wouldn't recommend the place for a quiet drink however!

The London Fields pub has turned itself around after being taken over by the owners of the Cat & Mutton. There is loads of live music in this pub and it hasn't got as trendy at the Cat yet, so worth a visit before it does!

Really? I hate the Cat and Mutton. Pixie Geldof goes there, which says it all really. The Prince Arthur is excellent.
