On 28 May 2013, a few hundred people from very different walks of life gathered at Istanbul’s Gezi Park. It was no different than the other anti-government protests happening throughout the world. People wanted to protect the trees, protest against the privatization of the public areas and neo-liberal policies legislated by the current government. It was a wake up call for a highly authoritarian government who had been constantly telling its citizens how to live their lives. ADINI SÖYLE / SAY YOUR NAME questions the relationship between the big corporations, government and the media through the Gezi Park protests.
