Anyone eaten at The Old Ship recently?
Went there for my birthday a couple of weeks ago, and unfortunately the meal was deplorable.
The lamb burger tasted and looked like lamb doner meat mushed together, the whitebait was definitely a frozen product, served with a very old piece of lemon, which was taken off us with a look of surprise when we asked for something a bit fresher.
The pie was also really dry - not much sauce.
The chips used to be offered in beef dripping or veg oil and were supposed to be hand made, but not any more it seems. I could have had a cheaper meal in the kebab shop next door as this was basically what it tasted like.
Real shame as it is nice to support local businesses but won't be eating here again.
