Seeing that Dalston Junction is currently closed to traffic both ways how about a street party is thrown to bring the community together?

Fantastic idea! We could get the TfL and Thames Water workers to join in as well, seeing as they've got so much leisure time on their hands.

Alternatively, we could tie it in with The Big Lunch for 2010 - not due until July I think but Dalston Lane will still be closed so no worries.

Seriously though: sounds like a good idea, whilst at the same time we could take the piss out of the inertia in getting the work completed. Flashmob anyone?
