The Camden Green Fair and Bikefest volunteers have been working for 18 months to bring the return of this fab fun day out for all Londoners.
From humble beginnings in a little Camden archway, all the way through attracting 25,000 people from across London and beyond to Regents Park, the fair has been about bringing groups and individuals together for festivities, entertainment and education with a fantastic message. So in 2010, as well as revamping some old favourites, the Camden Green Fair is looking back to its roots. This means more emphasis on community groups, a village green feel and a new and extended children’s zone. There are tons of great things going all day.
On Sunday 6th June, the Camden Green Fair will be celebrating our 18th birthday with our annual festival of free activities and entertainment for all the family. Visitors can get hands-on in the ethical fashion workshop, milk a cow in the mini city farm, join in with activities and workshops in the Green Kids area or compete for glory in the Village Green Games. Live music, solar-powered cinema, debates and bike mechanics make up some of the many, many treats that can be found – all for free – at this year’s fair.
As London’s leading green event the Camden Green Fair and Bikefest is not just about fun and frolics – there is a serious message behind everything at the fair, and visitors will learn ways to reduce their negative environmental impact, or just relax and take it all in, against the beautiful backdrop of Regent’s Park.
