Is it me, or is Dalston the land of fried chicken and chips?

Paulbjensen is right - they are everywhere in Dalston! But there are some really nice restaurants too, if you look hard enough! Any recommendations?

Cafe Otto (featured in Observer Food Monthly as one of the coolest places to eat on Earth, no less) Dalston Cafe on Dalston Lane (imagine a greasy spooner, but with organic ingredients), Cafe Evin (Kingsland Rd - great gozleme), Mangal 2 (Gilbert & George's fav) and of course Shanghai on Kingsland Road (for their dim sum - they have a dim sum happy hour in the afternoon). Hungry now. Time to get some lunch m'thinks...

Thank you for reminding me about Shanghai happy hour! I've just gone freelance so I can finally go!

Homerton is the land of chicken and chips but without the redeeming eateries.
