    Let's hope the "sewer collapse" nearby, which has now closed Dalston Lane both ways, does not delay what is supposed to be a May 23 opening. Anyone know how this happened, given that TfL have had control of this road for more than a year to, among other things, re-route the services?

    I bet it will be a Tesco Metro. What I have heard is that Climpton & Sons (from Broadway Market) are meant to be opening a branch there. tinyurl.com/yzelklz

    @scribe3: I've just checked on the TFL roadworks website and the proposed date of completion is now 22nd Feb, not 12th Feb as originally advertised! What the hell are they playing at? I'm sick of the disruptions caused by the roadworks, which have now been going on 9 months longer than promised! They're causing havoc in Dalston and generating a lot of stress for local people but don't really seem to care.
