After picking up two more Green Flag awards this year, fifteen of Hackney's parks and green spaces are in the running to be named the UK's favourite.
Thirteen of Hackney Council's green spaces had already been recognised as among the best in the country, joined this year by Hoxton Square and St John's Churchyard Gardens.
Now residents have a chance to vote for their favourite for the People's Choice Award, which will decide which of the 1,424 eligible parks and green spaces will be the site of the year.
More than 13,000 votes were cast in the Green Flag Award's online poll last year, so the race is well and truly underway for the borough's excellent outdoor spaces.
Cllr Jonathan McShane, Cabinet member for Health, Social Care and Culture, said: "We are very lucky to live in a borough surrounded by so much green space which is there for us to enjoy all year round.
"The People's Choice Award offers us the chance to thank the parks staff and users who have helped to make these spaces so special and to name our personal favourites."
Paul Todd, Green Flag Award scheme manager, said: "Our judges have decided on the parks which have reached the high standards of a Green Flag Award but The People's Choice Award gives the public the chance to decide which park or green space deserves the accolade of the nation's favourite."
Voting for the People's Choice Award winner closes at midnight on Sunday 14 October.
