Calling all Hackney Artists: Less than a month to submit your entry for £50,000 CREATE award

Festival is looking to reward breakthrough artistic talent across

Hackney and the other Olympic Host Boroughs this autumn. Run by the Bank

of America, the CREATE Art Award offers a £50,000 prize for the

commission of a brand new, participatory art project in association with

the 2012 Olympic Games.

Cllr

Guy Nicholson (Hackney Council Cabinet Member for Regeneration and the

2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games), explains: "The arts are thriving in

Hackney … 2012 will be the year of the Cultural Festival for our Games,

and the CREATE Art Award sits at the centre of that Festival, a perfect

opportunity to show the world the very best of our creative talent."

The

deadline for submissions is 5pm October 28, with the award being given
